Living In Exile Lyrics/Music - Wayne Gillespie c1989 Published by Songbroker NZ 2022 1) There’s ice on the window there's a wolf at the door There's a harsh wind that blows Down through the rafters and up through the floors Here's a place where nobody goes There's ice on your heart There's snow on the ground There's danger and treachery and it's all around. 2) There’s so many people around you But still you can feel alone Rocking reeling drunk and disorderly Feeling so far from home The streets they spread out around you Like a chinese puzzle No faces familiar in this hustle and bustle Living in exile and you can't go back Living in exile and you can't go... 3) Kiri-Anne lives down by the riverside On the banks of the Waikato Look through the windows of her caravan And watch that mighty water flow Those old ghosts behind us We try to start a new The mist it rolls off the mountain-side And I see what she always knew We're living in exile and we can't go back We're living in exile and we can't go back. Bridge: Exiled from feelings and emotions Divorced from dreams and mystery Romance lies buried and forgotten like Atlantis in the deep blue sea Exiled from the joy within us Dance to the drum of reality Old ways now buried and forgotten Destroyed by humanity Living in exile and you can't go back Living in exile and you can't go back Living in exile living in exile Living in exile and you can't go No you can't go, no you can't go You can't go, you can't go back.

SWIRLING RIVER - Words & Music - Wayne Gillespie c 1992 administered by Songbroker Publishing 2022 1) Don’t dive in the swirling river Don't climb on a shaky tree No need to run with fire When you can walk with me. 2) Don’t sail in stormy weather Don't build on shaky ground Don't fly without your feathers Hold on to what you've found Bridge 1: Let me be the ground you walk on Let me be the air you breath Let me swirl around you Like the autumn leaves.. 3) Don’t climb on the highest mountain Don't run through the darkest night You know I will walk beside you Whether you be wrong or right Bridge 2: Let me be the stars that guide you Let me be your ocean blue Let me take you as I find you Let me be loving you.. Bridge 3: Let me be the setting sun That keeps you from the shade Let me cover you with colours Too deep to ever fade... Never fade Never fade 4) Don’t dive in the swirling river Don't swim where you might drown Just let me be your lifeboat Too strong to ever let you down Never let you down Never let you down Never let you down.

FIVE STAGES ( OF MOURNING) - c Wayne Gillespie 1993 (key G) 1) His father died when he was nine years old But we don't talk about that He married late but he died young From a heart attack 2) His sister was just twenty-one She could dance and she could act She was coming home with the soldier boys When the truck rolled down the bank But there's five stages of mourning Nothing you can do about that Five stages of mourning Until you get your own life back. 3) My uncle's life wasted away Nothing we could do about that "I always wished that I could fly", he said And then his world went black But there's five stages of mourning Nothing you can do about that Five stages of mourning Until you get your own life back. Bridge: There’s denial and pain There's anger and shock There's guilt and blame There's sadness and loss ...then there's acceptance ...then there's acceptance. 4) We were young when we made our vows Thought we knew what was to come But our youth and our naivety Brought us both undone But there's five stages of mourning Nothing you can do about that Five stages of mourning Until you get your own life back. His father died when he was nine years old But we don't talk about that...

CAMILLE CLAUDEL - c Wayne Gillespie/Rachel Thomas 1993 Songbroker Publishing/Control 1) Tender and frail yet proud and brave There goes Camille Claudel Travelling down that narrow road That goes between heaven and hell But don't let them break you Don't let them break your will The warmth of the evening Turns into a mourning chill 2) Shafts of light go where the air is pale Plaster dust floats to the boards Your heros are men who seem to fail To let you collect your rewards Those winters in Paris Summers in Villeneuve fields Your lover forsakes you But the world remembers you still 3) Silent tongues speak though they be dumb Frozen eyes lock in your gaze You wonder why passion has left you numb Emotions are frozen in clay But don't let them break you Don't let them break your will The warmth of the evening Turns into a mourning chill 4) Figures in pieces lie on the floor All that you love you burn The carriage it slowly moves away Never will you return Those winters in Paris Summers in Villeneuve fields Your family forsakes you But the world remembers you still 5) Tender and frail yet proud and brave There goes Camille Claudel. OUR DAY IS SUNDAY - c.Wayne Gillespie 1993 Songbroker Publishing 2022 1) Monday and the working week it stretches out forever In the hustle bustle of the modern world it's now or never Look outside the window at the dirty sky Grab a cup of coffee put on your suit and tie Rush to the office there's no time to rest Put you heart in your pocket put your wallet in your chest But there is one day better than the rest There is one day we are truly blessed Whoa whoa oh - our day is Sunday Whoa oh oh oh - just me and you Whoa whoa oh - our day is Sunday Whoa oh oh oh - that's when I make love to you. 2) Tuesday stuck in traffic as the smog turns your lungs to leather And some kamikaze cabbie toots his horn and dents your fender Wednesday you work overtime while I study for exams Leave a message on the answerphone to tell you where I am Always rushing to and fro' there's no time to rest In this economic climate we try not to get depressed But at the end of the working week We get time to find some release Whoa whoa oh - our day is Sunday Whoa oh oh oh - just me and you Whoa whoa oh - our day is Sunday Whoa oh oh oh - that's when I make love to you. 3) Thursday I work all day, you're a waitress by night Friday we're out feeding our western appetites Saturday we go shopping then rent a video But we're fast asleep before the credits roll Whoa whoa oh - our day is Sunday Whoa oh oh oh - just me and you Whoa whoa oh - our day is Sunday Whoa oh oh oh - that's when I make love to you.

FATHER'S VOICE - c Wayne Gillespie 1991 Songbroker Publishing 1) She’s like a lamb that can't find it's feet She struggles but never too often She's lost her will, her will to survive She's lost what this world has to offer "But this world is so cold here and you are so warm Please forgive me for this distraction For I am old now but you are so young You can't deny the attraction". 2) She’s like a sparrow who fell from the nest Like a kitten who hasn't a home "Come here child won't you lay down and rest There's no need to feel so alone For you and I are we are one and the same The same eyes, the same skin, the same flaws Don't betray me my beautiful child Don't betray me for my blood is yours". SETTLE DOWN c Wayne Gillespie 1989 Songbroker Publishing 2022 1) There’s a place for us a place where we can go Could be anywhere anywhere that you want to go. Wish we could settle down It's time to settle down.
